The Repertory Theater of New Britain is holding auditions for Sam Shepard’s FOOL FOR LOVE, directed by Kelly DiMauro.  Audition dates are Sunday, August 15th 2pm-5pm and 7pm to 10pm, and Monday, August 16th, 7pm-10pm at the Repertory Theatre of New Britain, 23 Norden St., New Britain, CT.  Callbacks are scheduled for Wednesday, August 18, 7pm.

Set in a seedy hotel room on the edge of the Mojave Desert, FOOL FOR LOVE is a drama about love, differing perceptions and abandonment.  It has a distinctive Southwestern feel and attitude.  This is not the Southwest seen in cowboy “movies”, but is the Southwest that could be found in the 70s or 80s or even today.

There are 4 characters (1 woman and 3 men)

May:  A woman in her mid 30’s, on the run to start a new life.
Eddie:  A raucous man in his mid-thirties … cowboy
The Old Man:  a troubledman around 60 years old.
Martin:  A simple man in his 30s.

Please bring a headshot and resume if you have them.  Also, you are encouraged to perform two prepared contrasting 2 minute monologues. Cold reading from the script.  Sides will not be given out prior to the auditions.
