Dear Advertiser:
The Repertory Theatre of New Britain, Inc. is seeking advertisers for the 65th season program where we will be presenting the next five shows: (Rumors - comedy by Neil Simon, Fool for Love – drama by Sam Shepherd, The Foreigner – comedy by Larry Shue, Play It Again Sam – comedy by Neil Simon, and Come Blow Your Horn – comedy by Neil Simon ) . They will all be presented at the theatre, 23 Norden St., New Britain from September 3, 2010 to April, 23, 2011. In addition to our season, we have partnered with Cromwell Recreation and Company N’ Tempo for Summer Musical Theatre Boot Camp for Children ages 7-17 beginning this summer.
This is the 65th anniversary season of our non-profit 501c3 organization and we would welcome your support by purchasing a commercial advertisement for our program. Your ad has a potential of being seen by over 3500 audience members plus actors and backstage volunteers.
The Repertory Theatre of New Britain's philosophy is to produce quality community theatre at an affordable price that is suitable for the family. The entire community is invited to participate – audition for plays, act, sing, dance, work backstage, set construction, musician, props, lighting, and, of course, be an audience member. Training is provided for students and adults. Each season, we have 150 volunteers involved onstage, backstage, or as ushers. We estimate that if every volunteer was paid $8.25 hr. for the 3 months of preparation and for each show, we would have salaries of $204,187. year plus taxes, fringes and benefits!!! That is not including volunteer time for non show activity.
The Rep is the first and largest community theatre in Connecticut to own its own theatre. Its direct antecedents go back to 1931 and the Drama League who produced plays old Church Street in New Britain.
We hope that you will consider supporting us so that we can continue to provide a venue for community participation in this 65 year old theatrical organization which is totally volunteer.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors
